Maximum protection performance with minimal installation depth
The Wedge II is the optimized successor to the Wedge I and a high-performance road blocker certified in accordance with ASTM F2656, PAS 68, and IWA 14-1 – each with zero penetration.
With an installation depth of just 300 mm, including a 100 mm foundation recess, it offers significant advantages in installation, material usage, and construction time. The shallow design reduces the risk of interfering with existing underground infrastructure and enables cost-efficient integration into sensitive access areas.
The Wedge II is deployed where the highest protection requirements must be combined with an optimized structural design. Thanks to its shallow installation depth, it is particularly suitable for projects with limited space or existing underground infrastructure.
The system operates with a single hydraulic cylinder and a low-volume pressure accumulator. As a result, the control cabinets are compact in design and the system requires only one hydraulic connection. An innovative oil filtration system and low-noise scissor linkages ensure low-maintenance and smooth operation.
The standard operating time of 3.5 seconds can be reduced to approximately one second with the optional EFO function. Additional customization options such as a safety skirt or multi-colored cover plates allow for project-specific adaptation.
The Wedge II combines maximum certified protection performance with reduced installation depth, efficient hydraulic technology, and optimized cost efficiency.

The Wedge II requires only approx. 300 mm installation depth, compared to approx. 400 mm for the Wedge I. It is optimized for shallow-mount applications while maintaining certified M50/K12 impact performance.
The Wedge II is designed for access points where the highest protection classes are required while structural constraints such as limited installation depth or existing underground infrastructure must be taken into account.
The standard operating time is approximately 3.5 seconds. With the optional EFO function, the raising time can be reduced to around one second to achieve an exceptionally fast blocking response in critical situations.
Yes. The Wedge II is certified in accordance with ASTM F2656, PAS 68, and IWA 14-1. In the respective tests, it achieves zero penetration under defined impact conditions.
The Wedge II operates with a single hydraulic cylinder and a compact pressure accumulator system. An innovative oil filtration system and low-noise scissor linkages significantly reduce maintenance requirements and operating costs. The system is engineered for continuous 24/7 operation.
Available options include an EFO rapid raise function, safety skirt, multi-colored cover plates, LED signaling, integration solutions for access control systems, and additional project-specific custom features.
